Dieser Blended Whisky stammt aus den Beständen der Edrington Group. Welche Malts in diesem Blend sind lässt sich nur vermuten, aber zu der Edrington Gruppe gehörten in 1980 Macallan, Highland Park, Tamdhu, und Glenrothres.
Die Nase des Whiskies verrät sofort, dass es sich um ein sehr altes, schönes Sherry Fass handelt. Diese Art von Sherry Fässern ist heutzutage leider nur noch sehr selten zu finden. Man könnte einen ganzen Abend nur am Glas riechen.
Im Gaumen ist der Whisky perfekt ausgewogen. Er besitzt eine schöne süsse, einen ganz minimen Rauch, und allerlei Noten von getrockneten Früchten. Das Alter verleiht im eine angenehme Würze, aber ohne Bitterkeit und ohne Trockenheit.

This Blended Scotch Whisky stems from the stocks of the Edrington Group. We cannot be sure of its exact make-up, but in 1980 the Edrington Group included the distilleries Macallan, Highland Park, Tamdhu, and Glenrothes.
On the nose, one can immediately tell that is comes from an old-style sherry cask, of the kind one hardly ever finds anymore. One can spend an evening just smelling the glass.
The palate shows a beautifully dignified balance of sweetness, old leather, minimal smoke, and all sorts of dried fruit. Its age adds a touch of spice, without any bittnerness or drying effects.
Truly an old school whisky.
