Wir haben in 2019 drei besondere Fässer Inchfad erwerben können. Inchfad ist ein getorftes Destillat der Loch Lomond Destillerie, welches bis ca. 2009 produziert wurde.
Wir haben die drei Fässer (408, 411, und 412) nebeneinander probiert, und Fass 408 war klar unser Favorit. Danach vermischten wir die Muster der drei Fässer, und waren von der Kombination aus Fässern 408, 411, und 412, sowie aus der Kombination von Fässern 411 und 412 begeistert.
Also liessen wir Fass 408, sowie einen Teil des Vattings von den Fässern 408, 411, und 412, für uns abfüllen. Der Rest des Vattings wurde wieder in Fass 408 gefüllt, um in ein paar Jahren zu sehen, wie sich diese Kombination weiterentwickelt.
Was schmeckt besser? Entscheiden Sie selbst 😊
Das Vatting besitzt enorme Kraft, und ist vollmundig und ölig. Hier kommt tropfenweise Wasser perfekt zum Einsatz, um die Fruchtnoten und Geschmacksnuancen zu enthüllen.
Wir freuen uns sehr zu sehen, wie sich dieses schöne Vatting im Fass weiterentwickeln wird.

What is better, a great single cask or a vatting of three excellent casks? This is a question we set out to answer.
In 2019, we purchased three excellent casks of Inchfad, a peated spirit produced at Loch Lomond distillery until around 2009.
We tried the three casks (408, 411, and 412) on their own, in addition to mixing them together in twos and finally all three together. Cask 408 was easily our favourite of the three, but we were very much impressed by the vatting of all three together, in addition to the vatting of casks 411 and 412.
So we bottled half of cask 408 on its own, in addition to a portion of a vatting of casks 408, 411, and 412. The rest of the vatting was reracked into cask 408, to see how it will develop in the next few years.
So which is better? We suggest finding out for yourself 😊
The vatting is full of power, and has a rich and oily mouthfeel. We suggest using water, a drop or two at a time, to unlock the fruit and the myriad nuances that this whisky has to offer.
We cannot wait to see how this beautiful vatting continues to mature in cask.
