Batch 4 ist durchschnittlich 4 Jahre älter als unsere ausverkaufte erste Abfüllung und stammt aus denselben Fässern, Jahrgänge 1974 bis 1984, welche neu vermählt wurden, um den älteren Cognac perfekt harmonisch abzustimmen. Batch 3 (exklusiv für China) und 4 sind wahre Meisterstücke und im Vergleich mit den ersten Batches noch komplexer, unter Wahrung der bewährten Ausgewogenheit und Eleganz.

Daniel Bouju ist einer der besten Cognac Produzenten in der Charentes, und produziert seit 1805 erstklassige Cognac im Cru der Grande Champagne.

François Bouju, der Inhaber dieses Familienbetriebes, hat den Blend nach unseren Anforderungen entwickelt. Wir wollten einen Cognac, der speziell auf den Geschmack des Whiskytrinkers angepasst ist. Dieser sollte im Rancio-betonten Hausstil von Daniel Bouju sein, aber ohne die spürbare Bitterkeit, die viele seiner alten Cognac besitzen.

Das Ergebnis ist ein Cognac, der Liebhabern vom alten Sherry Whisky-Stil der 1960er und 1970er gefallen dürfte. Der Cognac ist ausgewogen, mit Noten von getrocknetem und frischem Steinobst, alter Holzpolitur, und dem geringsten Hauch natürlicher Süsse.

Der Cognac wurde in Fassstärke, ohne Zusätze, für uns abgefüllt.

The current batch 4 is four years older than our sold out first bottling and still originates from the same casks of cognac, vintages 1974-1984, which have been reblended in different proportions in order to maintain balance and harmony.

Both new batches 3 (Maltopedia and Juicyful China Exclusive) and 4 are true masterpieces and, compared to the first batches, are even more complex, while retaining the expected harmony and elegance.

Daniel Bouju is one of the best cognac producers in the Charentes, and has been making top tier cognac as a family owned business since 1805.

François Bouju, the owner and master blender, specially created this custom blend for us. After a day of tasting his excellent products, we asked him to blend a cognac which would feature a flavour profile loved by whisky drinkers. This blend should display the rancio-heavy house style of the older Bouju cognacs, while not having any of the tannin dryness that some of his older cognacs may develop.

He mastered this task, and produced a cognac that should specifically appeal to lovers of the old style of 1960s and 1970s ex-sherry cask whiskies. This cognac is supremely balanced, and has notes of dried and fresh stone fruit, old furniture polish, and a slight, natural sweetness.

As always, it was bottled for us at natural cask strength, without any additions.
